This past weekend I went to Surabaya to pick up my one and only little sister.. I went with Krystal and we spent the night and got some good food and just messed around until my sisters flight landed the next day..
So the day of arrival (wooooooo!!!) i woke up around 6.. i just could not sleep i was so excited.. It was almost like when you are little and you know Santa is coming.. haha.. So around 8 we hopped into a taxi and man it was a long ride.. We got to the airport and there were a lot of people waiting for the international flights to land.. we ended up having to wait about a half hour before hannah actually came out.. Krystal and I were just looking around for a little red-headed.. Krystal finally saw her and it finally started to feel more and more unreal.. of course once she saw me she started crying haha.. Krystal i think got a little freaked out and kept saying ohh dont cry! haha.. it was funny.. in truth i really only cried a littttttllee.. hannah was the one sobbing.. haha..
so we grab hannah and then we had to find a cab back to the city.. which was incredibly difficult.. After like 20 minutes of walking around the airport we finally found out how to get a cab out of the airport.. Which really didn't make too much sense to me BUT it was nice that we got to pay BEFORE so it ended up being a lot cheaper than the ride into the airport..
First stop was the Peace Corps office and then to the mall to find something small to eat.. the mall was interesting.. we just walked around and hannah got to see what a BIG mall is.. I think when i go home and go to the beachwood mall or the great lakes mall it will be too small for me now haha..
and then it was time to continue the journey to my site.. The bus was another wonderffffullll situation.. people yelling at us trying to get us onto certain buses.. the two buses that they tried to shove us on had like nooo seats available.. i think they were ignoring the fact that my sister had a huge suitcase.. finally we got on a bus and of course we were sitting there for like an hour or so before it finally left.. the whole time people kept shoving stuff in our face.. hannah finally got the hang of shaking her head and eventually the people just left us alone which was nice.. and then the bus ride.. it went by pretty fast..
so at site.. she got to meet everyone and take her first mandi!
today we went to school and of course hannah is a sensation.. my english club made her a welcome sign and we got some pictures.. i think having hannah here made their year.. they were so excited.. and once we went to class the kids could not stop talking.. i think one of the kids fell in love with hannah.. he wanted a picture with just him and hannah.. so funny..
